Our workshop can be customized to focus on research relevant to your student population, whether in preschool, elementary, middle, or high school.

School leaders need different strategies, depending on whether they are addressing the needs of students with extensive home literacy experiences or students with limited exposure to books and rich oral language. Our on-site workshop will help you apply the key research findings to the particular literacy backgrounds of your students.

Schools serving high numbers of English Language (Multilingual) Learners or students with reading disabilities (including dyslexia) may require specialized approaches. Our workshop can be tailored to emphasize the evidence-based practices most relevant to these student groups.

We customize our workshops by first working with you to answer several key questions:

• Is your school or district steeped in an approach to literacy that is not yet evidence-based, or are you looking to deepen and extend your existing research-based reading practices?

• What current knowledge does your team of leaders possess regarding reading research and how to implement key findings across your school or district?

• What is the current culture of learning in your school or district? How can your leaders further develop an evidence-based culture?

By understanding your school or district’s context, we tailor our workshop content to focus on the most relevant research findings and actionable strategies for your leaders.

You may prefer session dates that align with your existing professional development days. Or you may prefer particular times of the day or evening that work best for bringing all of your leaders together.

For our 6-hour Comprehensive Workshop, your leaders may prefer 3 two-hour sessions, 4 ninety-minute sessions, or a customized schedule tailored to their needs.
